Crystagen (Inj)
Crystagen is a tetrapeptide bioregulator (Lys-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed by the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. It is a tissue-specific peptide designed for the colon and large intestine. Research from Russian institutes suggests it supports colonocyte proliferation, reduces mucosal inflammation, and may help restore gut epithelial integrity, making it relevant for inflammatory bowel conditions and age-related gut decline.
Dosing Protocols
20-day cycle. Recommended that you repeat a cycle 3-4 times per year.
Take at bedtime, 2 hours after your last meal
Subcutaneous Administration
Mix with 2mL (200 units) of BAC water
10 units (1mg), 1x/day, for 20 days. It is recommended that you repeat this cycle 3-4 times a year.
Benefits
- Supports colonocyte (colon epithelial cell) proliferation and repair
- Reduces mucosal inflammation in the colon
- May restore gut epithelial barrier integrity
- Studied for inflammatory bowel disease models
- Anti-aging effects on colonic mucosa
- Well-tolerated peptide bioregulator
- May complement GI-healing peptides like BPC-157
Mechanism of Action
Crystagen (Lys-Glu-Asp-Gly) functions as a gene expression regulator in colonocytes. As a short tetrapeptide bioregulator from the Khavinson group, it is believed to enter cells and modulate chromatin state, upregulating genes involved in mucosal repair, barrier function (tight junction proteins), and anti-inflammatory signaling. This tissue-specific mechanism targets the large intestine without significant systemic hormonal effects.
Side Effects
- Generally very well tolerated
- Mild injection site reactions
- No significant systemic adverse effects in available research
Side Effect Management
Routine peptide bioregulator tolerability guidelines apply. Injection site rotation recommended. One of the best-tolerated peptide classes in research use.
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to the peptide
- Pregnancy and lactation (insufficient safety data)
